The Art Freak

I LIKE ALL FORMS OF ART. It's true... It can be broken down into three categories:
LiTERATURE:
I like reading AND writing. Some of my favorite reads are The Lord of the Rings series by J.R.R. Tolkien, the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling, White Oleander by Jane Fitch, The Body of Christopher Creed by Carol Plum-Ucci, and A Wizard of Earthsea by Ursula K. le Guin. My favorite writer, however, is Edgar Allan Poe. I'm not much for Shakespeare, unfortunately. I can never get into his stories. The stuff I write is mostly angsty/symbolic poetry, stories in a medieval fantasy setting that I shan't ever finish, and essays declaring my point-of-view in certain subjects.
MUSiC:
For the most part, I listen to rock. I can stand rap to a certain degree, but I don't listen to it very often. I also listen to classical, New Age, and folk-like music (you know, that medieval-ish stuff with bagpipes, flutes, and whatnot). Though, I prefer something with a guitar and lyrics I can sink my teeth into. I played trumpet in band, but I was never any good. And, if you think THAT'S bad, you should hear me playing my brother's drumset. XDD I also cannot carry a tune in a bucket. So I guess I'll always be on the worshiping end of this form of art, never on the creating end. My favorite bands are Breaking Benjamin, Three Days Grace, and Disturbed. I hate hate hate country.

I'm not the grandest creator here, either, but I'm learning. You can find me on deviantArt. I'm (obviously) into web design, but I draw stuff, too. ^^ My favorite kind of art to view is abstract, though I'm not really the best authority on all the different types of art, so I can't really name any other genres I enjoy.

The Guy

My friends are mostly guys. I think I like guys better because there's less drama and, from my experience, they're generally more reliable. Also, there's not many girls around here that share my guy-like interests. I don't wear skirts, I hardly ever do my hair or wear make-up, I watch football, I'm crazy for art (a few of my guy friends are also art freaks), and I can be honest around them. Guys are just more open about things around here, a lot of the girls just lie and conform. The guys are unique and proud, and hanging out with them is always interesting. They're hilarious, and we get along alright. So, I'm one of "the guys".

The Psycho Non-Conformist

Yeah, I'm one of those angsty teenage S.O.B.s that are totally against conformity. Sue me. I'm also against stereotypes to a degree. I mean, we all stereotype to a certain extent -- it's in human nature -- but it's been taken a little too far in this day and age. Not only is society categorizing UNIQUE individuals by what they wear or what music they listen to, they're also inspiring that people call THEMSELVES by these names. I will never fit into a single stereotype, no one should. We should be ourselves to the fullest extent of individuality. I'm also prone to spontaneous bursts of completely random phrases. BEWARE THE GOATS ON MOPEDS. See? Anyway, there's one phrase that I rather like that pretty much sums this section up: I'm crazy enough to be different.
